How fridge-to-recipe works
1. Show your ingredients
Upload a photo of your open fridge, pantry or the ingredients on your counter – or simply type what you have. You can also combine both, e.g. a photo plus “rice and pasta in the cupboard”.
2. Pick a goal
Depending on your goal, the AI suggests a different recipe: as high in protein as possible, low in calories and filling, or ready in 20 minutes or less.
3. Get a recipe with nutrition
You get a recipe with total time and servings, an ingredient list with amounts, step-by-step instructions and calories, protein, carbs and fat per serving. Every ingredient shows whether you have it or need to add it.
Which goal fits?
| Goal | What the AI focuses on | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| High protein | As much protein per serving as possible, e.g. from eggs, quark, meat, fish or legumes | Building muscle, dieting while keeping muscle |
| Low calorie | High volume and satiety with few calories, light on oil and cheese | Weight loss, calorie deficit |
| Quick | 20 minutes total or less, few steps | Weeknights, lunch breaks |
Use leftovers instead of throwing them out
According to Germany’s Federal Environment Agency, around 10.8 million tonnes of food waste were generated in Germany in 2022. 58 percent of it, about 6.3 million tonnes, came from private households – 74.5 kilograms per person per year. Cooking with what is already in your fridge means less waste and no extra shopping trip.
Tips for better recipes
- Tidy up, then shoot: foods should be clearly visible and not hide each other.
- Add your pantry: anything not in the picture, like rice, pasta or oats, goes into the text field.
- Add amounts: “3 eggs, 200 g chicken” helps the AI with servings and nutrition.
- Mention restrictions: notes like “lactose-free” or “vegetarian” in the text field are taken into account.
